🌟 Overview
Today’s observation was all about the search for the perfect sleeping spot.
From a mother duck leading her six ducklings in endless trial-and-error to find the right bed, to a giant family so big you can’t tell the mother from the ducklings, there was drama, comedy, and quiet beauty.
Watching mothers call for lost ducklings, ducklings scattering or sneaking naps in the wrong places, and witnessing rare collaborations with kingfishers made this an unforgettable day.

Xf5 (23 days old): A Peaceful Nap
Found the family quietly napping. Sometimes it’s the simplest scenes that soothe the soul.
Ef6 (9 days old): Endless Bed-Hunting
Mother Ef struggled to settle. She would sit, get up, wander off, only to try again.
⭐ Highlights:

Ducklings of different sizes made counting hard.

After many failed attempts, all six finally snuggled down together, undisturbed even by crow fights nearby.
Seeing them achieve this peaceful moment was deeply satisfying.
Ff6 (45 days): A Calm Neighbor
Spotted quietly napping nearby. When Ef6 approached, two ducklings fled, their origins unclear—possibly from another family entirely.
Lost Ducklings: The Mysterious Two
Two ducklings were heard peeping as they drifted steadily downstream. Possibly the same two Ef6 startled earlier.
Despite searching upstream for Gf7, Ef6, Df5, and Sf9, no sign—probably all hiding in dense vegetation.
Uf1 (23 days): Hidden in the Reeds
Finally found this elusive family in thick mid-river brush.
⭐ Bonus: A kingfisher perched nearby, giving us a rare dual-species shot.
Af13 (55 days): The Massive Family
Impossible to miss—even from afar.

“Find the 14!” game: Can you tell mother from ducklings? Nearly impossible now that they're so big.

Bed takeover: Af13 booted Bf捨1 from a spot, a funny turf war to witness.
Mother Searching for Lost Mf1 Duckling

A solo duckling spotted downstream, calling anxiously.

Mf mother was seen calling too, circling for ages.

Finally, an emotional moment: she notices the chick, swims to reunite, and relief all around.
Uf1 (9 days): Down to One Chick
Tragically, only one chick remained with the aging Uf mother.
Her feathers looked less waterproof, her bill wrinkled—signs of age that made the scene poignant.

💭 Final Thoughts
Watching Ef6 finally herd six ducklings to nap together was unexpectedly hard but so rewarding.
The contrast between tiny fragile families and the enormous Af13 group was striking.
And the motherly calls for lost ducklings were a moving reminder of their bond.
Despite the challenges—ducklings scattering, parents losing track—I loved witnessing their world in such detail.

圧巻のAf13の大家族は、もう母と子の区別すらつきません。
母カモが迷子を探して鳴き続ける姿や、ヒナが勝手に寝てしまう可愛い瞬間もあり、笑いと感動が詰まった一日でした。

静かにお昼寝する様子を発見。
何も起こらないこの平和さも、大切なひととき。
エf6（生後9日）：寝床探しの大冒険
エf母はなかなか落ち着けず、座っては起き、移動を繰り返し…。

なかなか見つからなかったUf1親子をようやく発見。

近くにカワセミも登場し、珍しいコラボレーションを撮影できました。

遠目からでも分かる存在感。

母カモは鳴きながら探し回り、ついに気づいて感動の合流シーンを記録できました。

残念ながら、ウf母が連れていたヒナはこの日1羽のみ。
母の羽の撥水も弱く、くちばしのシワも目立ち、年齢を感じさせる姿が印象的でした。
