🟡 Ki f4-9 – A Day in the Life of a Young Family
The highlight of the day was the Ki f4 family with four 9-day-old ducklings.
Their day was filled with routine wanderings—swimming, resting, feeding—but even within these simple moments, drama occasionally erupted.
First came a mystery: the ducklings were suddenly startled. Replaying the footage revealed what looked like a catfish or a shadow—possibly a whiskered predator under the surface. This was followed by an unmistakable reaction: the sudden appearance of a carp sent the ducklings fleeing in all directions. And yet, the mother duck remained calm, watching as if she’d seen it all before.
Throughout the day, the ducklings clung to their mother as they navigated the shallow stream, occasionally delayed by one of their own falling behind. At times, they tried to nap, but couldn’t settle. Eventually, the family circled back along the same path, suggesting they may repeat this loop multiple times each day.

Near the weir, the Of2 family hesitated to descend.
After much waiting, something unexpected happened: the mother duck herself slipped and was swept downstream!
The ducklings nearly followed, but stopped at the last second.
This mother seems to prefer patience over pressure, waiting for her ducklings to act of their own accord—whether climbing or sliding.

今日はカモ親子にあまり出会えず静かな日になるかと思いきや、幼いヒナと母カモの絶妙なコントラスト、そして母カモのまさかの堰すべり落ち事件など、見どころ満載の一日となりました。
🟡 キf4-9 – 幼い家族のまったりルーティン
今日一番じっくり観察できたのは、9日目のヒナ4羽を連れたキf4の親子。
のんびりした日常の中にも、ちょっとしたドラマが潜んでいました。
まずは謎のパニック。
ヒナたちが突然驚き、バラバラに逃げ出しました。スローで見返すと、ナマズのような口の動きや影のようなものが…。さらにその直後、本物の鯉が出現！ヒナたちはさらに驚いて逃げるも、母カモはどこ吹く風。落ち着いた様子で見守っていました。
その後も母の後をぴったりくっついて泳いだり、休もうとしても落ち着かなかったり…。
結局、寝床から元来たルートを逆戻りする様子も見られ、もしかしたらこの流れを毎日何周か繰り返しているのかもしれません。
🟡 Of2-49 – まさかの滑落！
堰の上でウロウロしていたOf2親子。
なかなか降りないな…と思って見守っていたら、なんと母カモがツルッと滑って流されてしまいました！
子カモたちは降りようとしたものの踏みとどまり、そのまま堰上に残りました。
この母カモは、登る時もそうでしたが、基本「待つ」タイプ。子のやる気が出るまでとことん待つようです。
🟡 その他の出会い

橋の下の大集団：橋の両岸にはびっしりとカモが集合。知らないメスや、よく似たカモも多数。

育った3羽の親子：サイズ的にTf8の可能性が高いものの、まだ特定できず。

アオサギとカワウ：飛翔するサギとじっと佇むカワウの姿も印象的でした。
🌤️ おわりに
今日はキf4だけでも観察できて良かった…。
最初に出会った“謎のびっくり”は少し怖かったけれど、母カモの落ち着きが頼もしかったです。
Of2の母の滑り落ち事件も、まさに予想外のハプニングでした。
出会える親子が少ない日でも、カルガモたちは確実に何かを見せてくれます。
明日もまた、新たな発見がありますように。
